This week is a tough one for me, as it is for many people. So I was particularly happy when on Monday after class I got an email from one of my students. He said the following:
“I like drawing during classes because it gives me a non-intrusive thing to do so my brain doesn’t fry itself, and today I wanted to draw a portrait of a Real Person, so I drew you!”
The picture he drew is below (posted with his permission):
It felt like I learned so much about this student in just one email. I was touched that he chose to draw me and even happier that he shared it with me. Thinking about that email is helping me drag myself through this week, and I’m grateful to him for that.
