Regular classes for the fall quarter end early next week, something that coincides with a long weekend for my daughter.  Since I talk a lot about my students with her, she’s decided that she wants to spend next Monday at school with me so that she can meet them.  Armed with a book, iPad, headphones, and access to a lab computer, she’ll sit in the classroom while I teach my last two Python classes of the quarter.  And I’m finding that I’m more excited about this than she is.  I can’t wait to have her there and show her what a day of teaching looks like for me.  Of course I’m aware that a full day at the office may be too much for an 8 year old, and I have a backup plan.  But I’m hoping that she’ll enjoy as much as I expect I will.
