I love teaching, so it’s not unusual that I have fun while doing it.  But even on the usual scale, I had a particularly great time today.  I was keeping the students engaged, teasing them about things, and overall just having a lot of fun.  Sometime in my second class today I was about to launch into a discussion on a new topic, when one of them raised his hand.  He rather sheepishly told me that I was five minutes overtime.  I was stunned, checked the time, apologized, and let them go.

The best part: not a single student had started visibly packing up.  They still seemed to be paying as much attention as usual, even if they were impatiently waiting for me to stop on the inside.  I adore my students.  They’re so serious and sweet and polite to me.
